Saying Good Bye to Lions Member, Loren Kinghorn Jr.
The Osseo Lions Club and the greater Lions District 5M-5 community mourns today for the passing of Lion Loren M. Kinghorn Jr.
It's with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to another member of our Osseo Lions Club and a great man of service to his country and our community.
🦁 Lion Loren Kinghorn Jr. spent most of his life in the Osseo area. He was a proud Navy Veteran who served from 1944 to 1946. He joined the Osseo Lions in 1961 and served as an active member for 64 years.
He was known as a serious man who didn't make quick decisions—he pondered. He loved to work and held many jobs in his life, including farming, highway construction for the state highway department, and as a home builder with Kinghorn Construction with his father. He prestressed concrete with Spancrete, worked at Cretex, and was the co-founder of Fabcon.
Lion Loren was also a member of the American Legion, Masons, Scottish Rite, Shriners, and Brooklyn United Methodist Church. Still, Loren was especially proud to be an active member of the Osseo Lions until this year, 2025.
When he wasn't working or volunteering with the Lions Club, Loren enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and dancing with his wife, Evelyn, who passed January 11 of this year.
Lion Loren passed May 5 at the age of 98.
Rest in peace, our friend, and thank you for your service. We invite everyone to take a moment of reflection for Lion Loren Kinghorn Jr. today, and ask you to share your memories of him with us.
