2025 OSSEO LIONS ROAR “LION OF THE YEAR”

Lion of the Year 2025 - Judy Rue

Lion Judy Rue

and her husband, Lion Chuck Rue

Each year, the Osseo Lions President appoints an outstanding individual as our Lion of the Year.

This club member is someone that is committed to the Lion’s mission of service to their community.

This year, we are proud to announce that Lion Judy Rue is our 2025 Lion of the Year!

Her husband, Lion Chuck, has been a member of the club since 2004, and for years, Judy volunteered at various Lions events alongside him, but did not officially join the club until January of 2017.

In the summer of 2017, the couple attended the Lions Club International Centennial Convention in Chicago to see the pageantry, only to find out that only Lions Club members were allowed to walk in the parade. From that day forward, Judy decided it was finally time to officially join the club.

Lion Judy truly has a heart for service and exemplifies what it means to be a Lion.  Her warmth, humor, work ethic, and kindness make her a well-qualified Lion of the Year.

She has served as a board member and as the Club President. More recently, Lion Judy served as a zone chair at the district level (2021-2024) and was a member of the Global Membership Team (GMT) for the 5M5 Lions District.  While serving as a Zone Chair and on the GMT, she also took over as secretary of the Osseo Lions Club and has once again been a dedicated and invaluable resource for the board.

In 2024, Judy and Chuck traveled to Guatemala on a Lions mission trip to provide underserved communities with vision care.  They joined other volunteers to provide eye care services to those in need.

The Rues have attended countless regional and international Lions Conventions and are always ambassadors of goodwill and community service.  These are just a few examples of the dedication she has to being a Lion and a force for good in the world.

Lion Judy is always among the first to volunteer for anything that needs doing, and has frequently gone out of her way to offer her help to the club president on any tasks that need to be done.

We love her cheerful, generous attitude – as well as her terrible dad jokes.

Congratulations to the most deserving Osseo Lion of the Year – Judy Rue!!

You are one of a kind, and we thank you for all that you do!
