For nearly half a century, the Osseo Lions Roar has been one of Osseo’s cornerstone community traditions—
It’s an event with deep roots that has brought neighbors, local businesses, civic leaders, and families together in downtown Osseo year after year.
In 2026, the Roar proudly marks its 50th anniversary, honoring decades of Lions service and community spirit while introducing special events and experiences that connect this hometown festival to our nation’s 250th birthday and the yearlong Semiquincentennial commemorations happening across America.
Like many beloved community traditions, the Roar has also shown resilience. When the event was paused in 2020 due to COVID-19 safety concerns, the Osseo Lions focused on protecting neighbors and volunteers, then brought the festival back in subsequent years with renewed energy and an even stronger commitment to serving the community.
As America commemorates 250 years of independence in 2026, the Osseo Lions Roar is stepping into its milestone year as a local expression of that national celebration—pairing fireworks and festivities happening across the country with a Main Street gathering that could only happen here in Osseo.
How to Get Involved This Year

The Osseo Lions Roar doesn’t happen overnight. It takes months of planning and coordination, and hours of dedicated volunteer time.
Many hands make light work.

The Lions Roar Vendor-in-the-Park Pop-up event takes place on Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm, and is located in the heart of downtown Osseo in Boerboom Veteran’s Park.
The location provides high visibility for crafters and vendors during the Lions Roar as event goers gather after the 5K event and before and following the Lions Roar Day Parade.

Osseo Lions will be there to serve you at the Beer Tent and our Food Tent, with a modified menu, on Friday from 5:00 to 10:30 pm, along with a new lineup of food vendors for a new Taste of Osseo experience. More details about the Taste of Osseo below. *
The popular inflatable jumpers are back for our young visitors in Leo’s Adventure area (Premier Banks parking lot), provided by Froggy Hops! 5 pm-8 pm
Generation Radio takes the stage at 6:30 PM and plays into the night (10:00 pm)

The day starts with some stretching, a 5K Run, and an Osseo Lions Roar Pop-up in the Park Vendor Fair.

*Lions Beer Tent - Opens at 11:00 AM (last call 10:30 PM)
Featuring strong beer and hard ciders, as well as craft and domestic beers.
Must be 21 years or older. Everyone will be carded and must provide a valid picture ID - no exceptions. Patrons must have an Osseo Lions wristband issued (at venue) to signal a valid ID before being served at the Osseo Lions Beer Tent.
Osseo Lions Food Tent - Serving food from 11:00 AM to 10:30 PM, including all your favorite traditional Lions Club food tent favorites like pulled pork, porkchops, and hot dogs. Plus Jet’s PIZZA, water, soda & chips are available!

The Lions Roar Car Show is Back!
Check out the beautifully updated and well-maintained array of classic cars lining Central Avenue between 3rd and 5th. Cars will start lining up immediately following the parade.
2026 Bean Bag (Cornhole) Tournament - Registration through the Scoreholio app. Cash prizes are paid out as a percentage of the number of registrations collected. Check-in begins at 10 AM. Games will start following the parade. Set up next to the main stage in the Premier Banks parking lot, along 1st Ave.
Bingo Under the Awning - Hosted by the Knights of Columbus, there will be a variety of games taking place under the awning of the Premier Banks drive-through. Times vary. Following the parade.
Bingo at the Community Center - Fun Senior Bingo day at the Osseo Community Center following the parade (2:00 PM - 3:30/4:00 PM). Proceeds from this event benefit the Osseo Senior Center.

There will be two Grand Prize winners: (1) Kids Kayo Jakal 200 ATV (donated by Heinen Motorsports), and (2) Kayo Kids E-Bike. Six (6) additional cash prizes will be distributed, totaling $250 each.
Raffle tickets are $10/chance and available now through event day, while supplies last.

Special Demonstration by the Minnesota Raptor Center -Join us down in front of the main stage for an amazing opportunity to learn about and see magnificent birds of prey up close, including a special viewing of our nation’s majestic Bald Eagle.
45-minute presentation, 2:30 PM - 3:15 PM
Enjoy Music by DJ Emerson - a local favorite, filling our afternoon with his fun sounds spun on the main stage from 3:30 PM to 5:30/6:00 PM.
Skitzo Fonik is back! - Taking us into the night with music to make you move! Performing current pop, rock, and timeless classics. Come celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday with us on the last night of the Roar. Main stage. 6:30 PM - 10:30 PM
