The Lions Roar Parade is the Pinnacle of the Two-Day Event Every Summer. It’s the Culmination of Local and Regional Businesses and Organizations Coming Together in a Showcase of True Community Spirit.

The parade will begin at 12 PM on the Saturday of the Lions Roar Event weekend. Follow our Lions Roar Facebook & Instagram pages for timely updates leading up to parade day!
We welcome all sorts of organizations and units to participate in our local community parade. However, the Osseo Lions Club and the City of Osseo reserve the right to refuse any applicant deemed harmful to the peaceful makeup of our community in any way.

Order of receipt does not guarantee placement. Your lineup number will be given out at the staging area entrance on the day of the parade.
A staging area map will be made available prior to the event and sent to the main contact you used when you registered your unit. A unit line-up will be made available at the same time and published at the bottom of this page.
Candy or other items ABSOLUTELY CANNOT BE THROWN from your unit float or vehicle, and MUST be handed out alongside the roadside seating or viewing area.
Applicant agrees to indemnify the Osseo Lions Club and the City of Osseo from any liability arising from Applicant’s participation in the Osseo Lions Roar and Parade.
Applicant additionally agrees to carry statutorily required liability insurance on any motor vehicle where it would normally be required by the State of Minnesota.
The Osseo Lions Roar Committee has sole discretion to accept or deny event participants.

The answer depends on your definition of “how long” something is in terms of distance, time, or duration.
The parade route is approximately, 1.2 miles long. According to Google Maps, this route would take the average person around 26 minutes to complete at a walking pace. However, a parade would obviously be taking place at a slower procession.
If we factor in the average number of participating units of 85-95 units, we estimate the parade to last approximately 90 minutes.

You will receive your unit number upon arrival at the lineup location.

Please arrive between 10:30-11:30 am, parade starts at Noon!

Use this time to decorate your parade unit. Staging takes place within residential streets. Please be respectful of private property and clean up any garbage or debris prior to the parade start. Please be mindful of parade and residential traffic.

IMPORTANT – SAME STAGING AREA FOR 2026!!! Enter the parade lineup location near Perkins - 8585 Aspen Ln N, Brooklyn Park, MN. A map will be provided at time of confirmation.

Yes, volunteers will be available to assist you in locating your unit number and directing you to your place within our staging area.

We do not allow drop-offs in the staging area for safety reasons.
There is a drop-off location for additional participants as needed. This will be the same as where our shuttle drops off at the intersection of 4th Ave SE & 2nd St SE.
A volunteer will be available to direct you to your location within the staging area.

Due to very limited parking in the staging area and surrounding road closures, we ask that you carpool as much as possible.
We are asking that all large groups carpool and park at the Osseo High School parking lot located at 317 2nd Ave NW, Osseo, MN.
You may park your cars in the school lot, which is the finishing point of the parade.
A shuttle service will be provided by American Student Transportation and NorthStar Buslines between 10:30-Noon to bring you to the parade’s staging area.
There will be no shuttles running following the parade, so please plan accordingly.

Yes, we encourage occasional performances, and HAVE FUN!
However, in order to keep things flowing smoothly we ask that you structure your performance in such a way that it does not cause big gaps or delays in the parade.
Volunteers will be present to assist with proper spacing along the parade route.

Follow the procession and enter into the OSH lot. Volunteers will be available to direct you and avoid congestion, allowing for safe unloading of your unit.

Applicants should submit their Lions Roar registrations no later than the end of August to ensure placement on the published list this year. Applications received and approved after Labor Day may still be considered for placement in our line-up, but may not appear on any published marketing online or in print.
Registrations are not confirmed until payment is received.
