The People Strengthening Our Communities Don't Just Watch.
They Show Up.
Join a community of neighbors who are helping preserve traditions, support local causes, and make Osseo stronger for future generations.
A Strong Community Doesn’t Happen By Accident
Some people enjoy living in a great community. Others help build it.
The Osseo Lions Club brings together neighbors, volunteers, local leaders, and community-minded residents who believe strong communities happen when people care enough to get involved.
For generations, Osseo Lions have helped preserve local traditions, support community initiatives, and create opportunities for neighbors to come together.
If you've ever wished there was a meaningful way to make a difference right here at home, you've found it.
Whether you volunteer regularly, help at an event, share your skills, or simply support the mission through membership, your involvement helps strengthen the fabric of our community.
As we often say:
It's not always about the dollar amounts shared. It's the intrinsic value of sharing in other ways—even the smallest ways—that help strengthen our communities.
The Osseo Lions Club exists for people who want to be part of that impact.
As a Lions club member, you’ll join our local group of service-minded men and women who are doing local volunteer work to support your community – right now. You’ll also become a member of Lions Clubs International, a respected international organization, a leader in your local community, and a friend to people in need.
There are many reasons to become a member. As a Lion member, you will:
Help your community and gain valuable skills
Make an impact on people's lives – locally and internationally
Learn to be a leader – and lead a respected organization
Network with business people in your community and around the world
Energize your life and have fun
You'll grow personally and professionally
Know that the community volunteer work you perform is worthwhile and appreciated
Be a part of something bigger than yourself
Whether you have a few hours a month or simply want to support the mission, there's a place for you here.
Because - WE SERVE!
“I joined because I wanted to give back. What surprised me was how many friendships came from it.”
Questions About Membership?
-
Membership isn't paying for the opportunity to volunteer. It's investing in the work that makes community impact possible.
Your membership helps support local projects, community events, service initiatives, and the resources needed to keep the Osseo Lions serving our community year after year.
Together, we can accomplish far more than any one person can alone.
-
Not at all.
We understand that work, family, and other commitments can make schedules busy. The Osseo Lions Club offers many ways to be involved, and members participate at different levels depending on their availability.
Some members volunteer regularly, while others help with a few events each year or support the club primarily through their membership. Every contribution matters, and every member helps strengthen our community.
-
Being a member in good standing simply means maintaining your membership dues and supporting the values of the Lions Club.
Members in good standing are eligible to serve in leadership roles, bring ideas and projects to the board for consideration, lead projects and fundraising events, and participate fully in club activities.
Lions International also encourages members to attend monthly meetings, volunteer for club service projects, and attend other community events as Lions representatives whenever possible. -
Not at all.
Our members come from a variety of backgrounds, professions, and life stages. Some are long-time community leaders, while others are newer residents looking for a meaningful way to connect and give back. We have several members in the prime of their careers, and a couple that just graduated high school and entered their early college careers.
One of our goals between 2026 and 2023 is to grow our membership in the 20-40 year old space by 30%.
If you care about Osseo and want to make a positive impact, there's a place for you here.
-
That's perfectly okay.
The Lions Club is built on the idea that everyone contributes in different ways. Some members volunteer their time, some share professional skills, some help organize events, and others support the mission through their membership and participation.
You don't need to be at every event to make a meaningful impact. What matters most is your commitment to helping strengthen our community.
Members in good standing are only expected to participate in one of our event projects a year, and submit up to 6 hours of volunteer time, which could be completed by participating in other community activities.
You can always reach out to your sponsor or our membership chairperson for additional guidance and support in your mission of service.
Osseo Lions is a family, and we believe that together we are stronger.
-
Absolutely.
One of the strengths of Lions is that members help shape the direction of the club and identify opportunities to serve the community. If you see a need in Osseo (or Osseo School District), have an idea that could make a positive difference in our community, or see a way for our club to support Lions International’s 8 pillars of service and giving, we'd love to hear about it.
Many of our most meaningful projects begin with a member who simply asks, "How can we help?"
-
If dues become overdue, the club will reach out and provide notice before any action is taken.
Lions International provides a process that allows members time to bring their accounts current and remain in good standing. Our goal is always to work with members and keep people connected to the mission whenever possible.
-
The first step is simply filling out the Membership Interest Form.
A member of our club will reach out, answer your questions, and help you learn more about the opportunities available.
If it feels like a good fit, we'll guide you through the formal (but easy) membership application process and help you find ways to get involved that match your interests and availability.
Membership is granted through invitation and approval by the club, ensuring that every new Lion shares our commitment to service and community.
The Real Impact Starts Here
The Osseo Lions Club exists because people choose to invest in their community.
Not because they have extra time. Not because they have extra money. But because they care.
If you've been looking for a meaningful way to make a difference close to home, we'd love to meet you.
