Osseo Lions Club Unveils New Logo and Website to Better Serve the Community
The Osseo Lions Club is updating its public image with a refreshed logo and a new, easier-to-use website, designed to better serve neighbors, volunteers, and community partners. This project supports the club’s mission to serve Osseo and the surrounding area with strong, modern tools that match its 82 years of service.
Honoring A Long Tradition of Service with a Refreshed Brand and Website Presence
For more than eight decades, the Osseo Lions Club has brought people together to help neighbors in need, support local events, and give back through volunteer work and fundraising. The club is now preparing to celebrate both the nation’s 250th birthday and the 50th anniversary of the beloved Osseo Lions Roar festival in 2026.
These major milestones inspired club leaders to take a fresh look at how the club shows up online and in print. They want their public image to reflect the same energy, pride, and community spirit that members bring to every project.
A Refined Logo For A New Era
In early 2025, the club began rolling out an updated, refined logo that honors the trusted Lions International brand while clearly highlighting Osseo’s identity. The refreshed artwork keeps the familiar Lions colors and emblem, but presents them in a way that works better across today’s digital and print platforms.
These changes also respond to new rules and automated checks on platforms like Meta, which led to account suspensions for some clubs that used the international logo without local adjustments in 2025. By refining how the logo is used, the Osseo club can reduce risk, protect its pages, and still proudly show that it is part of the global Lions family.
Partnering With Back2Basics
To guide this work, the club partnered with Back2Basics, LLC, a Minnesota-based brand and digital marketing agency that supports small businesses and nonprofits. Back2Basics is helping the club build a clearer, more consistent brand story and carry that story through the logo, website, and all outreach materials.
This partnership allows volunteer leaders to focus on service projects while design and technology experts handle the complex parts of branding, website planning, and digital strategy. The goal is a strong, easy-to-manage presence that will serve the club for many years to come.
Moving From WordPress to Squarespace
The club’s current site was built years ago on a custom WordPress theme that now needs frequent expert help for hosting, security, and updates. Over time, the theme code and server environment have become less stable, leading to downtime, design breakage, data loss, and performance issues.
To solve these problems, the new site will be built on Squarespace, a modern, secure, and mobile-friendly platform that is easier for non-technical volunteers to update. With Squarespace, volunteer club members will be empowered to post news, add photos, add or update key events and projects, and update overall content without needing advanced website skills or costly outside support.
Empowering Volunteers and Leaders
One of the most important goals of the redesign is to put more control back into the hands of club members and volunteer leaders. Right now, many changes require one person with website expertise or a paid third-party professional, which slows down updates and adds cost.
The new Squarespace-based site will include simple page templates, clear navigation, and structured event and news sections that trained volunteers can manage independently. This shared responsibility model will make it easier to keep information current and highlight more of the good work happening in the community throughout the year.
Better Experience for the Community
Community members, sponsors, and partners will see a cleaner, more visual website that works well on phones, tablets, and computers. Visitors will be able to quickly find event details, learn how to volunteer, explore sponsorship opportunities, and read stories about the impact of the club’s projects.
Improved performance and security will help keep the site online and responsive, even during busy times like Lions Roar or major fundraising drives. A more reliable site also means important forms, ticket links, and donation information will be easier to access when people are most ready to give.
Supporting Advocates, Volunteers, and Sponsors
This brand and website update is designed with the club’s closest supporters in mind: community advocates, volunteers, and sponsors. Advocates will gain a clear, shareable online home where they can send others to learn about needs, events, and impact.
Volunteers will benefit from simpler tools to sign up, stay informed, and help manage basic site content, which invites more people into leadership roles. Sponsors and partners will see their support more prominently featured on event pages, in recognition sections, or stories that showcase how their contributions change lives locally and beyond.
The Osseo Lions Club is Looking Ahead to June 2026 and Beyond
The refreshed logo has already begun appearing on print materials, social media, and other outreach since early 2025, and it will continue to roll out across remaining platforms. The new website design is expected to go live by the end of June 2026, in time to support the 50th Lions Roar celebration and other special events tied to the nation’s 250th birthday.
As the Osseo Lions Club steps into this new chapter, its mission remains the same: “We Serve.” With a renewed brand and stronger digital tools, the club is better equipped than ever to connect with the community, lift up neighbors in need, and invite the next generation of volunteers, advocates, and sponsors to join the pride.
