It’s been decided! Long-time Osseo mail carrier to lead this year’s Osseo Lions Roar Parade
Osseo mail carrier, Dennis Niles, has been chosen to lead the parade this year as the Lions Roar 2022 Grand Marshal.
If you’ve lived or worked in Osseo in the past decade or two, you’ve probably had the privilege of seeing Dennis Niles hard at work. Niles has been a mail carrier in Osseo for 18 years and serves three-fourths of Osseo in the rain, shine, and even when there is lots of snow! He not only works hard for Osseo but he delivers the mail with a smile, greeting the many citizens he has gotten to know over the years. Niles says his favorite part of the job is seeing his customers every day and watching their kids grow up.
When Niles isn’t working to deliver much of the important mail to and from Osseo, he can be found golfing, bowling, and spending time with his family. He and his spouse of 43 years have 2 daughters – Beth Seidl who is married to Clarissa Seidl and Christa Burdette who is married to Bryan Burdette. He also has 2 grandchildren, Jaxon and Khloe, who may be seen around town when Dennis brings them to Osseo on his days off!
Niles’ generous heart does not only extend to his family and the people of Osseo. He also devotes much of his time to various community volunteer efforts. He has been a member of the Masons at Sherburne Lodge #95 since 2012 and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star since 2013. The Lodge and Star both meet in Osseo!
Niles has also been instrumental in fundraising efforts for several community charities and for Jack’s Basket, an organization celebrating babies born with Down Syndrome, which he serves in honor of his Grandson, Jaxon.
While the Osseo Lions appreciate all the mail carriers that serve Osseo daily, the Lions are excited to select Dennis Niles as Grand Marshal this year. He is a fine representative for mail carriers, a loyal steward of the community, and a shining example of the great people that can be found in Osseo!
